Melbourne start-up agency The Royals has brought on board Tribal DDB Melbourne group creative director Nick Cummins and former Sputnik staffers Steve O'Farrell and Andrew Siwka as partners in the business.

Cummins becomes creative director at The Royals and forms the creative team with innovation director and founder Dave King. Cummins joins from Tribal DDB.

O'Farrell and Siwka both join The Royals as directors. O'Farrell was previously national managing director of Sputnik while Siwka was general manager of Sputnik.

The Royals are expanding off the back of organic growth and new business wins.

O'Farrell said: "All four partners have worked together under various guises in the past and I can't wait to see what's possible when we put our collective, bald, heads together."

Siwka said: "To create an agency unencumbered by legacy structures and thinking was an exciting enough proposition but to partner with this calibre of talent was an opportunity too big to pass up."

The Royals clients include Sensis, Mercedez Benz, News Limited, Teach for Australia and Lode.
