oOh! Media has exited mobile out-of-home advertising and offloaded its mobile billboard fleet.

Melbourne-based company Running Boards has acquired the 12 trucks. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. oOh! said the move was part of a broader strategy to go beyond traditional platforms and focus on digital developments.

"oOh! has been driving a significant transformation of the Australian out-of-home industry, by expanding beyond the traditional offerings to better connect advertisers with consumers through new products, such as our new Place Based Media offering, and rolling out exciting new technologies," said head of road at oOh! Noel Cook.

"As a result of our strategy and the fact we now have the largest inventory of roadside billboards, we decided to sell the mobile billboard business.”

Running Boards managing director Charles Tremlett told AdNews the deal was a natural fit for the business. "We've now been able to increase our fleet to provide an even stronger national offering. We are in the process of renovating and integrating the new vehicles into our national fleet," he said.
