OMD Melbourne has expanded its strategy and content capabilities with a range of hires, including Starcom Melbourne strategy director David Trovell as head of strategy.

Trovell will replace Sharon Cookson, and will join the agency on 29 October.

He has also worked previously as strategy director at Mediacom.

Meanwhile, Anjana Mani, business director at OMD Auckland's Fuse division, has moved to the Melbourne office as Fuse business director.

MEC Global Solutions London social media director Michelle Lyons has joined the agency as social media strategist. She joined earlier in the month.

Initiative Moscos strategic planning director Ilmira Maxutova has been hired as a strategist.

OMD Melbourne managing director Steve Sinha said: “We continue to invest heavily in strategy and innovation talent and we have been blessed in attracting some great people to OMD. David Trovell has a fantastic reputation in the Melbourne market and will be a great addition to our business.

“We have been in discussions with Anjana, Michelle and Ilmira for some time and we will scour the world for cutting edge talent to provide expertise in areas of major growth for us. Anjana has been a rising star in the OMD network so we are really pleased she has agreed to join us in Melbourne.”
