OMD has hired Dan Robins as national head of search.

OMD has boosted its search capabilities with the recruitment of Carat London's Dan Robins as national head of search.

Robins will be responsible for driving the agency's search operation across all of its local offices. He is to report into national head of digital direct & data Paul Elliot. Robins' national role is a newly created position to cater to the network's expanded search offering.

He joined from Carat London where he was head of paid search for the UK, which included working on clients such as General Motors, Santander, Travelodge, Vodafone and Diageo. He has also worked at The Search Works.

Elliot said: “We're delighted to have somebody of Dan's calibre join the OMD fold. His achievements and reputation in search are second to none. Dan has the passion, drive and smarts to take our paid search offering to the next level, and will play a key role in delivering even greater collaboration and integration across our specialist performance teams.”

Robins said: “I'm really excited to be joining OMD at a time when digital marketing and SEM in particular are really taking off. In my short time here it's been very interesting to see the differences in the Australian market place; not least how strong the smartphone penetration is here.”
