Tourism NT has appointed Publicis Groupe agencies to work on its business.

Publicis Groupe has picked up Tourism NT's creative and media agency business in a deal worth at least $14 million over two years.

Publicis Mojo will handle the creative work, Zenith Optimedia will handle media and Amnesia Razorfish the digital elements.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Matt Conlan said that the account needed a “creative agency that understands the magic of the Northern Territory and can interpret it different and compelling ways.” Ultimately though, “the bottom line was who could attract the most visitors to the territory,” he added.

“We need to become more aggressive and commercial in our approach to increase visitation to the Territory, particularly in the international market,” said Conlan. “Having a global expert on board will be invaluable to help us achieve this goal.”

The two year contract, with an option for a one year extension, is worth a minimum of $1million per year for lead creative and $6 million a year on media planning and placement services.

Publicis Mojo CEO Joe Pollard said the “integrated team … will offer the very best of creativity and connections to help Tourism NT attain its goals.”
