Content marketing agency King Content has lured KellyOCG global marketer Todd Wheatland to the newly created role of head of strategy.

The Australian expat has been based in Paris since 2005 as VP marketing at Kelly Services as well as heading up global marketing for KellyOCG, the firm's workforce consulting and outsourcing arm.

Wheatland was named as one of LinkedIn's Top 25 Social Media Experts in February, was on FierceCMO's 15 CMOs to Watch list in 2013, and was a Content Marketer of the Year Finalist in 2013.

King Content founder and chief executive Craig Hodges said: "We are extremely pleased to attract someone of Todd’s calibre. His extensive content marketing and social media expertise will be of invaluable benefit to our clients who wish to maximise the ROI potential of content marketing."

Wheatland said: "I am a strong believer in the power of content marketing to transform customer relationships, and can’t wait to work with Australian marketers who are developing a more strategic approach to content marketing. I’ve observed King Content from afar as they’ve received huge recognition overseas these past few years."

King Content launched a social media division in October headed up by former OMD Word national director Paul Gilbert, as well as opening a Melbourne and Singapore office.
