Ten has signed on Holden, Unilever, Cbus, Thirsty Camel Liquor and, of course, KFC, as the sponsors of its T20 Big Bash cricket coverage.

Ten secured the TV broadcast rights for Big Bash in June as part of the Cricket Australia broadcast rights negotiations.

The season will start this summer and the network has lined-up Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming and Sir Viv Richards as part of its commentary team.

KFC is already the name sponsor of the Big Bash League.

KFC acting chief marketing officer Valerie Kubizniak said: “KFC Australia has proudly been involved with T20 cricket since 2003 and we're thrilled and excited to partner with Ten, who for the first time will make Big Bash League available to free-to-air audiences.”

Holden executive director, sales & marketing Philip Brook said: “We see it as a great opportunity to align our new and exciting car lines with the newest and most exciting format of the game.”

In addition to the announced sponsors, Ten national sales director Louise Barrett said there was another blue-chip client who have signed on the dotted line, which the network cannot currently reveal.

“From the moment we announced that the KFC T20 Big Bash League was coming to Ten, we have had enormous interest from clients,” said Barrett. “[…] we are close to finalising other sponsorships. The appetite for Big Bash has been extremely positive.”
