Grey Canberra has changed over its senior management with the appointment of Tony Mansfield as general manager following the exit of Warren Apps.

Mansfield joins from Hulsbosch Design where he was head of strategy and account management. He has also worked at Manidis Roberts, STW, Yello Brands and for himself as TM Associates.

Former managing director Warren Apps left the agency last month after almost 10 years to join Coordinate.

Grey has also hired STW-owned IM Advertising staffer Matt Johnson as creative director. Johnson has also worked at The Brand Shop, Ogilvy and DDB Sydney.

Grey Australia chief executive Luke Waldren said: “Quite simply, Tony and Matt are first rate and we are pleased to have them aboard Grey Canberra where I know they will be formidable competition for the market. Tony has a wealth of experience with deep relationships in the industry.

“Matt's creative talent and penchant for discovering new ideas is contagious and very complementary to our existing client relationships as we seek to expand our strong foothold in the industry.”

In addition to account management, creative and strategy departments, Grey's Canberra office also houses the network's digital production unit.
