Got $500k? Twitter.com.au up for sale

By Brendan Coyne | 15 January 2014

Twitter's local domain is available with the owner seeking upwards of $500,000 for a quick sale.

Whereas Twitter owns most national domains, twitter.com.au is home to Tyas Wittermann Creative.

It is registered to Jason Boyce. His efforts to register the twitter.com.au trademark, and Twitter Inc’s response are detailed here.

Last year Boyce told AdNews that twitter.com.au “has been part of my business plans for a very long time (since 2006) and plays a significant part in its future”.

He added that he has “had opportunistic offers in the past from external parties that I simply turned away as they were cyber-squatters and had no genuine business intentions”

Now though, he has decided to sell it along with tyas.com.au and tyaswittermann.com.au under the Tyas Wittermann Creative banner. The three will not be split, according to a statement on the twitter.com.au website, which indicates that the expected sale price will be between $500,000 and $800,000.

According to the website, offers for the business must be submitted by the end of February.

Neither Boyce nor Twitter Australia have yet responded to request for comment.
