OzTAM screened a witty online ad at last week's Media Federation Awards (MFA), featuring a puppet likened to Seven West Media boss David Leckie.
The campaign features a purple puppet, who represents a TV executive, ranting about bad ratings on the phone, and finishes with the tagline, “OzTAM, ruining television careers for more than 10 years”.
The campaign was revealed at last Thursday’s Media Federation Awards, hosted by Seven's Deal Or No Deal host Andrew O'Keefe and Dancing With The Stars' Sonia Kruger.
O’Keefe compared the raving purple puppet to David Leckie after it was screened to the audience, provoking laughter and a round of applause.
In the ad, the puppet character is screaming down the phone at OzTAM. "Clearly the system or your panel is fucked ... Come on, the show had it all, tits, arse, drugs, cooking ... I promised my client 20 million [viewers] you dickhead."
