Sydney agencies Publicis Mojo, M&C Saatchi and DDB Sydney have taken home a Pencil each at the One Show Awards in New York City.

M&C Saatchi’s Sydney office won a Bronze Pencil in the Integrated Branding/Public Service Campaign category for its ‘Limited Edition’ work for the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. The agency used out-of-home and online advertising to auction off art prints of more than 60 animals the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, which would have to put to sleep if new homes weren’t found.

In the Branded Content/Television category, DDB Sydney scored a Bronze Pencil for its ‘Tiguan - Cross Country’ campaign for Volkswagen. The winning ad featured a young couple using their Volkwagen 4WD to sneak away from their bush campsite to stay in a hotel for the evening while their friends roughed it in tents.

Australian beer advertising was also honoured, with Publicis Mojo’s ‘Russell Falls’ campaign for Lion Nathan brand James Boag’s Draught taking a Bronze Pencil in the category Cinema Advertising/Short Form - Under: 90 – Single. The ad, which was not as broadly comedic or ‘blokey’ as some Australian beer ads, showed how James Boag’s Draught is forged in the waters of Tasmania’s rivers.

A total of 115 Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils were awarded, culled from nearly 20,000 submissions.
