Young creatives are being invited to pitch a campaign for Cindy Gallop's #MakeLoveNotPorn site as part of the upcoming Ad:Tech digital media conference.

Marketing students are being asked to come up with an idea to promote the site to young Australians as part of the NextGen conference stream. All pitches will be judged by a senior industry panel on the day and successful ideas could be adopted by Gallop.

The creative challenge is headed up by Jenny Williams, managing partner of Ideagarden. The NextGen conference programme aims to connect young creatives with leading digital brands like Google and Facebook as well as agencies.

TED speaker Gallop launched the campaign site #MakeLoveNotPorn to promote a healthy dialogue around sex and counter the “distorting impact” of porn on how young people think about sex.

Ad:Tech head of content, Chris Edwards, said: “This year, Ad:Tech will play a part in bridging the talent gap in Australia’s digital sector by connecting Australia’s brightest university talent with some of the world’s leading digital brands and experts. The stream is all about offering students training in creative ideation, experience in group work, and the opportunity to pitch a real-life campaign,” he said.

“We've chosen a hugely worthwhile project as part of the campaign challenge, one that we think will really inspire the students.”

The conference is in Sydney on 18 and 19 March.
