SYDNEY: Virgin Money has launched a marketing campaign using its own product to back two new credit cards and an online savings account.
To demonstrate how points can be accrued, every element of the
campaign was bought on a Virgin Money credit card including 107-strong cast, 60 crew members, props,
costumes, animals, a director, music, and camera hire.
The card also
paid for all media including billboards, DM, online and print. The push is Virgin's attempt to break the stranglehold of the Big Four banks.
Created by Happy Soldiers, the activity is the agency's first work for its foundation client. It rolls out across out-of-home. print, DM and online.
The Virgin Flyer credit card leads the campaign. It is the first Virgin credit card to earns points that can be used on Virgin airlines and the campaign idea puts the card to the test.
Virgin Money paid for the entire advertising campaign with a Virgin Flyer credit card. In doing so they earned enough points for more than 200 flights around the world which will be given away via a competition on the Virgin Money homepage.
