Radio Lions Shortlist: Aussies dominate soundwaves

Australians have made a big showing in the Radio Lions, with Australian work listed 30 times on the shortlist including the Bundaberg Rum campaign by Leo Burnett and Legacy work by GPY&R Melbourne.

Audio specialist agency Eardrum Sydney make up of the bulk of Australian work on the list, appearing eight times for production work in overseas campaigns for United Arab Emirates and Indonesia.

Local campaigns appearing on the list include BMF's Sportsbet work which appears four times in the Entertainment and Leisure category, while VML Sydney's Blacksport Beacons for Transport New South Wales is shortlisted in the Public Health and Safety, Use of Audio Technology and Use of Radio as a Medium categories.

Three versions of the Men Like Us campaign for Diageo's Bundaberg Rum by Leo Burnett Sydney and Song Zu appear in the Use of Music, Scriptwriting and Performance categories. Three ads from the Letters of Gallipoli campaign for Legacy by GPY&R Melbourne have also been shortlisted in the Use of Branded Content/Programming and Use of Sound Design categories.

This year 1720 entires were submitted to the Radio Lions this year. Whybin\TBWA Melbourne executive creative director Paul Reardon is the jury president of this year's Radio Lions.
