Qantas is to relaunch its international brand image, with the creation of a new team led by executive manager customer & marketing Lesley Grant.

Qantas head of corporate affairs Olivia Wirth said Grant has moved into the new role for six months, effective immediately.

"Lesley has played a key role in the Qantas domestic refresh program and the roll out of next generation check in, onboard enhancements and new lounges. The project has now been extended to our international product and services," she said.

As a result of the move, Qantas executive marketing director Lewis Pullen will report into group executive of commercial, Rob Gurney, while the remainder of Grant's reports including cabin crew and customer service staff will report to executive general manager of operations, Lyell Strambi.

On Friday, Qantas revealed it will launch direct services from Sydney to Dallas in the US from 16 May 2011, and is to ditch its Sydney to San Francisco direct service.
