ING appoints M&C to ad account

SYDNEY: M&C Saatchi has bagged the ad account for ING Australia's wealth management and insurance business.

The win is M&C's second major account win of the day after David Jones appointed the agency to handle its ad account this morning.

M&C Saatchi worldwide chairman, Tom Dery, told AdNews: "We are delighted to be appointed to this brand after such a tough pitch process."

Sources said the ANZ-owned ING business was shifted to M&C following a pitch that included DDB and two other agencies. The appointment comes after ANZ Bank swallowed up the Australian and New Zealand operations of ING last year.

The Dutch-owned financial services giant reaped $1.86 billion by selling the insurance and wealth management stake it had shared with ANZ in a joint venture, making ANZ the sole owner.
