Social media management tool Hootsuite has made two new appointments in an Australian "leadership refresh", including a new managing director and marketing manager.

Former Dell, Oracle and Marketo executive Heather Cook has been appointed managing director and head of sales and will be joined by Pamela Kemp, who joins as marketing manager in Australia and New Zealand.

Cook is charged with enhancing customer experiences to drive digital growth and success for potential and existing customers across Australia and New Zealand.

“My career has closely followed new technology development and market trends. I’m passionate about leading and supporting companies as they transform their business in order to leverage these technologies," Cook said.

"Social and genuine personalised engagement is the way forward and Hootsuite is the global leader in this space so it’s exciting to be a part of leading that conversation."

Bringing with her more than 17 years of leadership, coaching and business transformation in the technology and software industry, Hootsuite said Cook is well-positioned to support early adopters of social technology.

Over the next 12 months, Kemp will be focused on developing a better-connected digital marketing community across the region, while supporting the conversation on how businesses can harness social media to deliver customer and business value.

Kemp's 12 years of digital and content marketing leadership includes roles at software company 9 Spokes, Deloitte and law firm King and Wood Mallesons.

“Technology and psychology are rapidly converging and, when applied correctly, tech has the capability to help people, causes, brands and businesses connect and develop stronger relationships," Kemp said.

Hootsuite and my profession have been at the forefront of this evolution and I love being a part of enabling these connections and seeing the positive impact they have on people and communities.
