Google is targeting Australian agencies and advertisers with a marketing campaign to back its display advertising offering.

The campaign, called “Watch this space”, includes online, print, direct mail, and outdoor activity. It marks the first time that Google is advertising its display products at scale in Australia.

The push was was created by Google’s Creative Lab and marketing team, with media planning handled by PHD. Sputnik Agency managed the creative process locally.

It comes as Google ramps up its efforts behind DoubleClick, the Google Display Network and YouTube in the Australian market.

Google’s head of display for Australia, Karen Stocks, said: “‘Watch this space’ is about the exciting changes taking place in the industry and the potential for display advertising to be a truly engaging, relevant, and measurable medium.

“We wanted to explain how Google is helping to make display advertising even better and to showcase the opportunities in this space for agencies and marketers.”
