The Communications Council has revealed the dates and venue for its inaugural 2011 Creative Festival called 'The Circus'.

The festival will take place from 22 to 24 February at Sydney's Carriageworks in Eveleigh. The Creative Festival will incorporate the Account Planning Group's Battle of Big Thinking, and will also feature a speaker program and culminate with the AWARD Awards at the State Theatre.

The event is a collaboration between the Advertising Federation of Australia, the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association, the Account Planning Group and the Australasian Promotional Marketers Association under the umbrella of the Communications Council.

Communications Council chief executive Daniel Leesong said: “The festival will be a major event focused on highlighting our industry’s creativity and flair. It will bring us together to discuss common issues and ideas, and is designed to appeal to an audience far beyond the creative discipline.

"Commercial creativity remains at the forefront of popular culture. We have much to celebrate while keeping abreast with the ever changing ways messages are delivered to society."
