CarsGuide is preparing to relaunch its site later this month and has appointed MediaCom, BWM and Interbrand to handle its business.

MediaCom was appointed directly without a pitch. BWM and InterBrand won the business in a competitive pitch.

CarsGuide is hoping that the relaunch will accelerate its growth and make it stand out in the market. It wants to disrupt the online car sales marketplace, boost its brand awareness and make the site easier to use.

It's also shifting away from the traditional classifieds commercial model to a pay-per-view model.

CarsGuide is jointly owned by News Corp and a coalition of dealerships. It recently hit out at rival CarSales for its acquisition of auto finance broker Stratton – a move CarsGuide claims is bad for transparency in the market.
