QBE takes fans 'into the game' in latest Swans ad

Users will be invited to step into a mini SCG replica and be given the ability to step into the boots of a Sydney Swans player.

QBE Insurance and long-term partner, the Sydney Swans, are set to launch a fully immersive 360-degree virtual reality AFL match day experience.

The four-minute VR experience will officially launch at the Sydney Cricket Ground on April 1.

Users will be invited to walk into a mini SCG replica and be given the ability to step into the boots of a Sydney Swans player.

Created with production company Rapid, the experience was filmed during the Sydney Swans Round 14 clash with Essendon, which the Swans won by just one point during the dying seconds.

The Swans 360⁰ QBE campaign commenced with a series of 15-second teaser clips showing players, including Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin and Isaac Heeney, as well as coach John Longmire, sharing their reactions to experiencing match day in virtual reality.

Ahead of the official launch, QBE has released a 90-second behind the scenes video, showing how the VR film was made.

The campaign will continue to rollout throughout the season, with additional content to follow through both QBE and Sydney Swans digital and social media channels.
