Westpac confirms $70m MediaCom win

Westpac has confirmed that MediaCom has been awarded its $70 million media account, as tipped by AdNews last month.

MediaCom will handle media strategy, planning and trading for all of Westpac’s brands, including St George bank.

MediaCom Australasia CEO Toby Jenner said: "We're delighted that MediaCom and MediaCompete have been successful against such strong competition, it shows just how far we've come over the last two years and half years."

MediaCom beat out incumbent OMD and UM in a final three-way pitch. Aegis was involved in earlier stages of the process, pitching under the Vizeum banner in partnership with Razor. 

The three year contract commences on 1 December 2011.

AdNews tipped in Semptember that MediaCom was in final negotiations with Westpac.
