US lounge singer Richard Cheese has claimed the music in The Star's recent ad campaign ripped off his version of 'Welcome to the Jungle', which has led to the launch of a spoof YouTube video. Which version do you prefer?
Earlier in the week, Cheese lashed out on his Facebook page, claiming the music in The Star's latest ad campaign, created by The Monkeys, was a “rip off”.
A spoof YouTube clip from user newspapermamamama has since been launched, where Richard Cheese's version of the song is played over the ad's visuals. Under the video are the words, “There will be lawsuits”, which is a play on The Star's strapline 'There will be stories'.
It is unclear whether Cheese will take legal action, although he has hinted at this on his Facebook page.
The star had not returned calls at the time of writing.
