The out of home industry has posted a 5% year-on-year revenue uplift for quarter two of 2011.

The industry pulled in $229 million, compared with $217 million in quarter two of 2010.

The Outdoor Media Association's chief executive Charmaine Moldrich said: "It is heartening to see the industry maintain its steady growth in a tightmarket. We are very pleased to see continuing strength in the industry with this being its sixth consecutive quarter of growth."

Moldrich told AdNews that the growth has largely been driven by the introduction of outdoor measurement system MOVE. "This is our sixth consecutive quarter of growth and MOVE has been in the market for 15 months, so we are starting to see that MOVE is having an influence on people buying outdoor, because there really are more people buying outdoor."

As part of the growth, roadside billboards pulled in $82 million, other roadside outdoor brought in $85 million, transport related outdoor pulled $33 million, while retail outdoor brought in $29 million.
