303Lowe upskills digital
303Lowe has enhanced its digital team with the addition of Rob Van Selm as project director, Seth Cleaver as user experience specialist and Sean Molam as senior applications developer. Perth-based web developers Web Insite will also be rolled into 303Lowe.

Alpha Salmon beefs up
STW-owned agency Alpha Salmon has hired TBWA Tequila's Glendon Manners as business director and Nokia's Daniel Wilson as senior consultant in its Singapore office. Additionally, the agency has appointed Next Digital's Nigel Lamb as group strategy director in Sydney. The hires are a result of organic business growth.

Euro RSCG Sydney grows team
Euro RSCG Sydney has appointed Ian Farmer as digital planner and Peter Pippen as strategy planner. Farmer has worked with a number of digital agencies and on the client side with the Mars group. Pippen has previously worked at Jigsaw Strategic Research and across the FMCG, health, auto and finance industries.

APN resizes New Zealand Herald to tabloid
APN New Zealand Media will print the New Zealand Herald in tabloid or “compact” size from September in line with a redesign of  the masthead's website. APN said it has been considering a shift to compact format “for some time”, as well as new content and a redesign across the print and digital platforms. The paper's sister title, the Weekend Herald, will remain in broadsheet format.

SMH and Age Android apps launch today
Fairfax Metro Media has launched Andriod apps for the SMH and The Age, with beta versions on available for tablets from Samsung, Motorola and Asus. They will be in a format similar to their iPad counterparts. Users will receive access to daily and weekly sections, as well as Sudoku and weather.
