Lady Gaga launching social networking site
Pop superstar Lady Gaga is launching a social media site dedicated to herself, called Little Monsters. The LittleMonster.com site is currently in its beta testing form, and fans can sign up to be put on the waiting list.
SMH and The Age have top newspaper apps
According to Roy Morgan, The sydney Morning Herald newspaper app has the highest amount of users in Australia, with 121,000 users. The Age comes in second, with 89,000 users, followed by The Australian, The New York Time, The Economist, Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph, West Australian, Courier Mail and Time.
Excess Baggage officially dumped
The Nine Network has placated industry speculation and has officially dumped week old program Excess Baggage. According to reports as of Monday, the program will be aired on the digital freeview channel Go and will no longer air on the 7pm prime timeslot on Nine's main channel. AdNews flagged the move yesterday.
Invisalign sponsors Dolly model search
After a ten year absence ACP Magazine's Dolly is returning the model search competition. Registration will appear in the March edition of the magazine. The main sponsor of the event is Invisalign along with other sponsors including Face of Australia, Westfield, Chadwick Model Agency and Nova.
Circus Festival reveals second round speakers
The Communications Council's media, marketing and business Circus Festival has announced a second round of speakers for the event on 27-29 March. Speakers include Head of Google creative labs Tom Uglow, Jurlique's chief brand officer Rosanna Iacono, MDC's chief innovation director Faris Yakob, former Gap marketer John Aylward, and SVP of strategy and planning Razorfish, Joseph Crump.
