Quikflix partners with HBO
Online DVD rental and
streaming service Quikflix has signed a licensing agreement with US
cable channel and content producer Home Box Office (HBO). The deal will
allow Quikflix to offer streaming of HBO's back catalogue of
programming including acclaimed series such as The Sopranos and Band of
Brothers. Last year, Quikflix took over Telstra Bigpond's DVD inventory
after the telco ceased its online DVD rental service.
Donna Hay to speak at ASTRA breakfast
Food publisher Donna Hay has been named headline speaker for the 2012 Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA) Women in TV Breakfast. On March 22 Hay will be joined by former track and field athlete and current sports presenter, producer and TV personality Tiffany Cherry.

MCM Entertainment Group has appointed ABC TV marketer Liz Green as marketing and PR director, to support its three businesses MCM Media, Igloo and Movideo. She reports to the group's chief executive, Simon Joyce.

China Southern Airlines and Syd Festival partner for three more years
China Southern Airlines has extended its sponsorship of the Sydney Festival for a further three years until 2015. The airline came on board as a major sponsor for 2012 in a deal worth $600,000. A spokesperson for the Festival said details of the value of the three-year sponsorship are still being worked out between the two parties.
