As The Voice continues to hit the high notes, MasterChef Australia is slipping off the specials board and outside of the top 10. Last night 735,000 viewers tuned in, its lowest audience so far this series.

It's week two of the cookery showdown on Ten, which kicked off last Monday to an audience of 874,000. Its biggest night so far was last Thursday, when 1.001 million fans saw chef Kylie Kwong make her first appearance as a guest mentor.

MasterChef won 735,000 viewers across Australia's five metro areas last night, making it the 13th most-watched program on the free-to-air networks.

Nine's The Voice pulled the biggest crowd, with an audience of 1.663 million.

The second Reveal show of Seven's House Rules took out second place, with 1.292 million people watching, according to preliminary overnight ratings figures from OzTam.

The new series of 24: Live Another Day premiered on Ten last night – with the first half an hour commercial free “to give viewers the opportunity to really engage with the drama”, a Ten spokesman told AdNews. The program missed out on the top 20 with an audience of 400,000.

The Big Bang Theory, on Nine, and Seven's Home and Away were the only other non-news programs to make the top 10, with The Big Bang Theory in eighth spot with an audience of 1.043 million and Home and Away ninth with 1.023 million.

Nine won the biggest free-to-air audience share, with 32.7%, followed by Seven with 30%, the ABC with 17.3% and Ten with 15.5%.

Nine News won the largest news audience, in third place with 1.257 million viewers, Seven News was fourth with 1.241 million, Nine News at 6.30 was fifth with 1.192 million, Seven's Today Tonight was sixth with 1.134 million, Nine's A Current Affair was seventh with 1.065 million, and ABC News was 10th with 868,000.
