Australian property developing company Leighton Properties in Western Australia has appointed the brand consultancy company Block as its first branding and creative agency.

Block will focus on Leighton Properties Kings Square urban renewal development project, and will aim to create a marketing strategy that will position Kings Square as a hub for younger employees, with more flexible work environments.

The King's Square project is a part of the West Australian government's $3 billion Perth City Link redevelopment.

Block business strategy director Carolyn Hall said: “This represents a major opportunity for Block. Over the past seven years we have honed our expertise in the property branding sector, and continue to attract clients that are redefining Perth as we know it.”

Leighton senior development manager Michael Barr said: “Block understands the value of branding within the property space and the complexity of appealing to different tenants, which made it the obvious choice as our Perth agency.”

Block has worked with other property clients including Match, MRA (formerly the East Perth Redevelopment Authority), and Encorp Development, a subsidiary of Encorp Berhad Malaysia.
