Audi in the US has released a Sliding Doors-esque short film starring actress Claire Danes to promote its TDI clean diesel model. It's witty and well worth a watch.
Starting with Danes in jail, it rewinds eight hours to explain exactly how she got there. It kicks off with a fresh-faced, well-dressed Danes chatting with her manager about how she's going to get to New York for an event despite an airport closure.
Outside the caravan are two cars: an Audi TDI and a limousine, complete with chauffeur. The manager insists she takes the latter, claiming she can relax and do some "seated yoga". The video then splits and shows two versions of the actress in either ride, in true Sliding Doors style.
The limousine turns out to be anything but glamorous, driven by a man with a penchant for over-sharing, useless facts and rock music. Chaos ensues, including a breakdown, bandages and handcuffs.
Yep, she should've taken the Audi. That Danes is enjoying a scenic sepia-toned ride through the country, where she stops to play with puppies, be papped by photographers, and has an all-round American good time.
