GPY&R Brisbane expands capacity by 50%

EXCLUSIVE: George Patterson Y&R Brisbane has added ten new staff to its creative and digital team, following a $25 million increase in billings from new clients in 2011.

The hires follow the agency's national Tatts Lotteries win, which was awarded in October last year. New staff will also service existing GPY&R Brisbane accounts such as Suncorp Bank and Insurance and South Pacific Breweries.

The senior hires include former Sapient Nitro senior copywriter Bevan Lewis as senior creative, The Holla Agency CRM specialist David Maunder as art director, and Decoder CRM specialist Cameron Healy as copywriter.

GPY&R Brisbane creative director Piet Human said: “After a busy and very fruitful 2011, we recognised the need to add greater depth to our creative and digital offering.

“It was also a good opportunity to look at our agency to ensure we have the most up-to-date skill-sets across all creative disciplines and channels. We now have the right team to help us continue the momentum we've built over the last three years.”

The hires come at a crucial time for the Brisbane agency as it is greatly expanding its capacity. Last week AdNews reported that GPY&R was expanding its operations in Brisbane, launching another arm of IdeaWorks, as a way to tap into the retail sector.
