Global Unilever marketer heads to McDonald's

Unilever UK global brand director for Skip, Nick Boyden, has joined McDonald’s Australia as marketing manager, reporting directly to Madeleine Fitzpatrick.

Boyden has replaced Shamini Nair, and will start in the new role on 15 October. He will report to McDonald's Australian marketing head Madeleine Fitzpatrick.

Boyden was placed by leadership search firm Hourigan International.

Madeleine Fitzpatrick said: “Nick will be a great asset to the McDonald’s business. He has a strong integrated communications background, having worked across multiple categories and highly creative brands like Lynx.

“He also has an entrepreneurial mindset that will really suit the retail environment. We’re very excited he’s joining the team.”

Meanwhile, Hourigan International leadership consultant Kate Wivell said: “ Nick is a confident and capable guy, who brings great energy, drive and charisma to everything he does.

“He has a great mix of local and global experience and a practical, down to earth approach to marketing – a perfect fit for a branded retail business like McDonald’s.”

Boyden has worked previously at Unilever, MasterCard Worldwide, M&C Saatchi and McCann Worldgroup.
