Independent ad agency Deepend and its mobile agency Nomad have racked up the most shortlisted entries at the AIMIA Awards while the ABC was close behind.

Deepend has been shortlisted nine times across various categories for clients including National Parks and the Victorian Government. It often collaborated with sister agency Nomad on many of the finalist entries.

The ABC was the second most shortlisted company with eight shortlisted entries for its apps and projects. Additionally, ABC Open scored a further two finalist entries.

In the same vein, SBS Online garnered seven finalist entries. Foxtel was shortlisted four times.

Agencies with multiple shortlisted entries included Visual Jazz Isobar, Soap Creative, Whybin TBWA, Digital Arts Network, George Patterson Y&R Melbourne, Reactive, The White Agency, Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Webling Interactive and McCann.

AIMIA Awards judging chair Paul McCarthy said: “There has been outstanding work in application development produced by and for an array of organisations. We've seen a diverse range of brilliant app entries from companies such as Fairfax Digital, ABC, Hungry Jack's and St. George Bank.”

McCarthy also praised finalists for innovative work which featured concepts such as crowd-sourcing and digital outdoor screens.

The AIMIA Awards will be held on Friday 15 March.
