Bulla flees 'Vile Kyle'

Southern Cross Austereo's (SCA) ad revenue continues to slide out the door as yet another brand, Bulla Dairy Foods, ceased its relationship with controversial radio host Kyle Sandilands.

Bulla had partnered with SCA's breakfast program the Kyle & Jackie O Show for an in-store promotion for its ice cream brand, which started earlier this month. The brand has sought to distance itself as a result of Sandilands' disparaging comments about a News Limited journalist last year.

Bulla Dairy Foods chief executive, Reg Weine, said: "Our company listens carefully to our consumers and customers and we respect and value their comments, feedback and opinions. Our consumers and customers have voiced their concerns with the brand association, which they say is at odds with Bulla Dairy Foods' family value of trust and teamwork, communication, growth and family life.

"We expect and require our broadcast partners to behave at all times in a manner that is consistent with our core values and in line with community expectations and standards."

Bulla is the latest in a string of advertisers who have dropped their support of Sandilands' program, with other big names to pull out including McDonald's, Holden, Myer and the Australian Government.

Earlier this year, weight loss brand Jenny Craig came under fire for its sponsorship of the show and abandoned Sandilands the next day.

Last year, Sandilands caused controversy when he labeled News Limited journalist Alison Stephenson a "fat slag" and threatened to "hunt her down" after a critical review of his television special.

Activist group Sack Vile Kyle, which campaigns through social networks and email, has said it is being overwhelmed by membership requests.
