There is speculation Lynley Marshall, director of commercial operations at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, will become Television New Zealand's next chief exeucitve.
Rick Ellis ended his tenure at the state-owned broadcaster last year to head up a newly-formed digital development department for Telstra, based in Australia.
New Zealand born Marshall, a director Fisher & Paykel Appliances, is tipped to replace Ellis.
Marshall joined the ABC in 2000 as director of new media and digital services. Integrated delivery
of the broadcaster's digital content, including ABC Online, ABC2, video on demand, interactive television, mobile and other emerging platforms was her responsibility.
She
was appointed Director of ABC Commercial in February 2007 to develop
the ABC's commercial business including DVD, music, books and retail and
pursue new business opportunities in the digital media environment.
Marshall could not be reached today. Asked whether Fisher & Payker had spoken to Marshall about the TVNZ job, spokesman Matt Orr, said: "Those are questions you should put to Lynley."
