Prime CEO resigns
CANBERRA: Prime Media Group chief executive Warwick Syphers will resign at the end of March to join AdStream Holdings in the UK. Prime chairman Paul Ramsay said Syphers, who has been at the regional media group for 20 years, will remain with the company until the June quarter to ensure a smooth transistion. "Warwick has made a valuable contribution to the company over a lengthy period and also shown true leadership guiding Prime through some challenging time. Warwick is leaving the business in good shape for future growth," Ramsay said. It is not known what role Syphers will take with Adstream, which is majority owned by Paul Ramsay Holdings. Adstream Holdings is a digital advertising workflow and asset management company.

Social Media Women launches

SYDNEY: Social Media Women, a formal networking group that will encourage and assist women to participate more prominently in social media has been launched today. The founding members are Nancy Georges (Magnolia Solutions), Catriona Pollard (CP Communications) and Kristin Rohan (Sassy SEO). Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. iPad available late April

SYDNEY: All models of Apple's iPad (Wi-Fi and 3G models) will be available in Australia in late April. Apple said pricing will be announced at the time of availability. iPad lets users browse the web, read and send email, share photos, watch videos, listen to music, play games and read ebooks. The iPad is 1.27 centimetres thick and weighs 680 grams - thinner and lighter than any laptop or netbook.
