FME hires director of sales Asia
SINGAPORE: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has appointed Haryaty Abdul Rahman to the newly-created role of director sales, Asia. Rahman will be based in Singapore and will report directly to recently promoted Ganesh Rajaram, senior vice president, International Distribution and Home Entertainment, Asia. Rahman's appointment takes immediate effect. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the distribution and home entertainment businesses in select Asian markets.
NITV poised to advertise
SYDNEY: National Indigenous Television (NITV) has appointed independent media sales company Stenmark Organisation, to handle its national television and cross-platform advertising sales. NITV was established four years ago by the Federal Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts to provide commissioned and acquired content to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia. Having successfully established a broadcast model across a range of platforms, NITV is now poised to incorporate advertising into its schedule.
CRA calls for speakers
SYDNEY: Commercial Radio Australia has called for expressions of interest for people wanting to speak at its national conference on 15 October at Crown in Melbourne. Speakers are being sought to present on issues of relevance to the radio industry - digital technologies, broadcasting trends, programming and content, and opportunities and challenges for the media industry at home and around the world. Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner said the idea to call for expressions of interest for speakers was to explore broader ideas and ensure a fresh mix of content for the one-day conference. The deadline for speaker proposals is Friday 23 April.
Seek ups stake in JobStreet
MELBOURNE: Seek Limited has increased its stake in South East Asis online recruitment company JobStreet Corporation Berhad, from 10.1% to 21.3%. Jobstreet owns employment sites in Malaysia, Singapore and the Phillipines and also has a shareholding in Taiwanese employment site 104 Corporation. The total consideration paid by Seek was $23.5 million.
