MELBOURNE: VB has launched its Summer of Spin ad campaign, which its claims is its largest ever, featuring a Talking Warnie doll.

The Foster’s beer brand announced on 4 September that cricket legend and roving Lothario Shane Warne was replacing David Boon as the face of VB.

Like the Talking Boon doll, the Warnie figurine will provide special comments during cricket telecasts and will be available to consumers when they purchase cartons of VB and VB Mid.

“We know VB drinkers loved watching the sheik of tweak on the pitch, now the sheik of speak will watch the cricket with them,” Ben Wicks, VB marketing manager, said.

VB’s Big Warnie statue, which originally debuted in London before last year’s Ashes series, will tour around Australia at cricket matches and other events.

The campaign, officially begins on 1 December and includes competitions and the site vbwarnie.com.
