Wavemaker's Emily Cook has been appointed head of client partnerships for Carat Brisbane.

Dentsu Queensland managing director Chris Ernst says the team is thrilled to have Cook join the agency.

"Not only is she a Queensland native returning home, she returns with an incredible reputation for client and people leadership and a passion for our industry which will fit right in with our culture and values,” Ernst says.

Cook returns to Brisbane after seven and a half years in Sydney and Melbourne.

She has spent the last four and half years at Wavemaker in Sydney as the media lead running two of the agency’s biggest clients.

She most recently lead the Vodafone account for three years and prior to this she was a client lead on Nestlé.

During her time in Melbourne she managed the Carlton & United Breweries business.

Since 2020 Cook has been the Media Federation of Australia Five Plus (MFA5+) Sydney Committee Chair.

She was also listed in the Top 20 AdNews Emerging Leaders 2020.

As MFA5+ Sydney Chair, Cook’s focus has been working to co-create taking the large MFA5+ inspiration series events online and work to establish the national MFA5+ Connect Series – bringing leaders together to hear from keynotes and connect with peers across the industry.

In addition to this she has focused on supporting and mentoring across the NGEN online events and presentations to university students, to inspire them about the industry, people and culture.

“I am so excited to be heading home to Queensland. I love the people-focus and strong relationship-based industry that the Brisbane media market has, and I’m so delighted with the opportunity to work with Chris and the dentsu QLD, Carat team," Cook says.

"I have so much energy and enthusiasm for this industry and I can’t wait to work alongside current and new clients in this role."
