News Bulletin: WPP shifts for Amazon, TEG appoints data boss, Webling builds creative team

TEG appoints MD of data, digital and technology

Ticketing and entertainment company TEG has appointed Mazen Kassis as MD of data, digital and technology. Kassis joins from Dentsu Aegis' data firm Data2Decisions, where he was marketing analytics director. In the newly created role, he will join the senior leadership team and oversee its analytics business, TEG Rewards, TEG Digital and Softix. The role has been created to drive integration and commercial focus across TEG’s businesses.

HelloFresh looks for family taste testers

HelloFresh is looking for six Aussie families to use its meal delivery service for a year and act as food critics and reviewers. The content and reviews will help Hello Fresh improve its product and service, as well as give it content that can be sued for marketing. HelloFresh is headed up by former MasterChef contestant Tom Rutledge, who says he is says he is “humble to the pressure of feeding a family meals that measure up to everybody’s liking”. 

HelloFresh's purpose is to make it easier for people to cook meals from scratch at home by providing easy to follow recipes and all the right ingredients in a weekly subscription service. The six taste test families will shed light on how HelloFresh fits into families' lives 

Wunderman and Possible are joining forces

WPP plans to combine its agencies Wunderman and Possible, creating a super group of 9,200 people and 200 offices, according to AdWeek. Possible will continue to operate as its own brand, but it will be placed under Wunderman moving forward. The network says helping clients develop their Amazon strategy is a top priority. Possible and Wunderman both count Microsoft as a client in Seattle and the network says Amazon will also play a central role for both agencies in the future. Possible acquired the Amazon consulting specialist Marketplace Ignition, which helps brands grow their businesses through Amazon, earlier in the year. Frank Kochenas, SVP of commerce of Marketplace Ignition, said at the time of the acquisition: “Winning on Amazon requires a brand and its agency partners to do different things than what they’ve done historically for 50 years.”

Webling bolsters creative team with new hire

WPP AUNZ's digital agency Webling has appointed Carlos Guedes to the newly created position of associate creative director. Guedes joins following a three-year stint at mobile creative Snakk Media Group as creative director and is a founding member of mobile creative agency Touch Create. He is an experienced digital creative director and has worked at agencies including JWT, Isobar and HAVAS and with brands such as Vodafone, McDonald's, Lipton, Nokia, Kit Kat, and MTV.
