Nando's is pitching its creative account and is close to appointing a new agency, AdNews can reveal.

The pitch is underway and is believed to involve the Meerkats, 303 MullenLowe and The Works.

Banjo is Nando's agency of record, winning the account in 2012.

Banjo created iconic work for the fast food restaurant, including its 2013 humorous campaign that focused on the types of awkward conversations that can happen over a meal.

It was also behind the mango heist marketing stunt, where the Melbourne-based brand ‘borrowed’ the Bowen Big Mango for the launch of its new sauce.

Nando's confimed the pitch but declined to comment further.
