Movers & Shakers: Publicis Media, Ten, HT&E

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

Mark Krebs named Publicis Media strategy director
Zenith's Mark Krebs been named Publicis Media strategy director. Krebs joined Zenith as strategy director of its Sydney office in 2016 from Nine, where he was strategist for four years. He now takes on an expanded role within the group as Publicis Media reshuffles its leadership team following the departure of Matt James. To coincide with James' departure, who left to take on a global Zenith role, Publicis promoted Mike Rebelo to CEO of the group.

Ten announces Squillace hire
The network confirmed the completion of its new sales leadership team with the appointment of Lisa Squillace as national sales director. Squillace, who joins from Seven after being embroiled in a legal battle with her former employer, will be responsible for leading national sales activity, including overall sales responsibility over market regions. She joins in February.

Wunderman Thompson hires John Gutteridge
J Walter Thompson APAC CEO John Gutteridge will return to Australia to head up Wunderman Thompson across Australia and New Zealand. Gutteridge moved to Singapore in 2016 to step into the role of CEO of JWT APAC. He was previously managing director of JWT Melbourne, New Zealand and London.

Red Rooster hires former KFC manager
Ashley Hughes, who previously worked at KFC Australia as group marketing manager, joins Red Rooster as director of marketing. Hughes spent more than six years at KFC where he played a leading role in the marketing and development of individual meals and value categories. He also worked on campaigns such as 'Shut Up and Take My Money'. He first started his career in finance in the UK before moving to Australia to work at companies such as Diageo, Johnnie Walker and Smirnoff Vodka.

CX Lavender reveals graduate hires
CX Lavender took on eight new graduates from its 2018 Genus Grad Program. Stephanie Ryan and Miriam Jeffery begin their careers as writers, with Jason Manon and Jaimii Jakab taking up roles as UX designers. The remaining four grads; Alissa Del Vecchio, Malithi Geeganage, Shemara Selvaratnam and Sophie Hackett, will work across CX Lavender’s business and strategy guilds.

The8Agency nabs ex-Blaze ECD
Former Blaze executive creative director Patrick Rychner joins The8Agency in the same role. Rychner worked at the WPP agency for more than 12 years before it merged with MediaCom last year. Blaze has also previously worked at George Patterson and Adtown.

RT Health hires ex-McCann MD
Former McCann managing director Adam Lee has resurfaced as the chief customer and marketing officer of health care fund RT Health. Lee exited McCann as the agency restructured under the new leadership of CEO Nicole Taylor in September 2018. He now leads the marketing team at the non-for-profit organisation, joining the business this month.

HT&E announces redundancies
HT&E chief revenue officer Tony Kendall, who moved into the role in April 2017 from his role as ARN CEO, has been made redundant, as well as partnerships director Greg Tremain. Prior to ARN Kendall worked at Bauer Media as director of sales. ARN chief commercial officer Emma-Jayne Owens will exit the network and the role of commercial director Sydney and Brisbane held by Mason Rook has also been made redundant. Peter Whitehead, who is currently ARN commercial director Melbourne and Adelaide, will replace Owens, joining the executive leadership team.
