Meta wants to fully automate the creation of ads on its platforms, Facebook and Instagram, using AI.
The plans were revealed by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg during the company’s AGM.
“In the not-too-distant future, we want to get to a world where any business will be able to just tell us what objective they’re trying to achieve, like selling something or getting a new customer, how much they’re willing to pay for each result, and connect their bank account and then we just do the rest for them,” he said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
AI is a key plank in the Meta’s development plans, with the company recently releasing new AI assistants.
The company lifted revenue 16% to $US42.31 billion in the March quarter as the company doubled down on AI and released a stand alone assistant app.
Ad impressions across platforms increased by 5% in the quarter and the average price per ad was up by 10%.
Advertising revenue was $US41.392 billion, up from $US35.635 billion in the same three months last year.
