Amplify is increasing its Australian presence with the hire of two creative directors, including former AKQA Sydney CD Tim Baggot.

The UK marketing agency opened up its Sydney office last April and has grown to a team of 10.

Baggot, who has also previously worked at VML, joins as creative director while Gus Magee joins as associate creative director.

Baggot will be reporting to Amplify Australia’s managing partner Gareth Davies, with the task of expanding and pushing the Sydney office’s creative offering.

“As the agency founded as a home for creative people and creative clients, creativity is front and centre of everything we do,” Davies says.

“So, in addition to a local client list that includes Google and Spotify, these appointments really put a stake in the ground, signalling our intention to help raise the creative bar across the Australian market.”

Baggot has worked on projects including the global marketing campaign Elton John: The Cut and the Choose Love initiative supporting refugees.

Magee joins from creative design agency The Projects Sydney where he led the creative on the Gigi Hadid x Reebok capsule collection’s Australian launch.
