Ikea prepares to review media

SYDNEY: Ikea is poised to review its media planning and buying account, in both Western Australia and South Australia, AdNews can reveal.

The account is currently handled by long-term incumbent OMD, which is on a 90-day notice period. OMD is on alert and MindShare is preparing to meet Ikea, ahead of the start of a new contract in September.

Ikea WA and SA marketing manager Nigel Richardson said no other agencies are involved in the proposed review, which includes planning and buying across TV, print, and radio.

The review was initiated by a shake-up of Ikea's creative agency arrangements in the region.
