Apollo Motorhomes is introducing the Van Pollo family in a campaign via Trans-Tasman creative agency jnr.

“Most holidays start the same way: arrive, unpack, settle in. But what if holidays didn’t have to be this way?” said thl head of brand and marketing, Rebecca McKenzie.

“What if people wanted something a little more out of the ordinary? That’s exactly what an Apollo road trip holiday delivers; and what we set out to unlock with the brand platform and the Van Pollos.

“The platform challenges people to break their holiday habits, inspires a new way to travel, and builds confidence to book with Apollo.

“The creative smartly showcases the extraordinary experiences only a road trip can offer, while addressing common concerns around motorhome travel. We’re excited to win hearts and change minds through the Van Pollos and the ‘Check Out of the Ordinary’ platform.”

jnr. executive creative director & partner Jenny Mak said Motorhomes are “an invitation to break routine, yet the category often feels stuck in one.”

“‘Check Out of the Ordinary’ is about flipping that – reframing holidays as something playful, unexpected and full of possibility,” said Mak.

“Animation gave us the freedom to go there, from curious aliens poking around the motorhome to talking dogs and even a slightly awkward shower moment.

“The Van Pollo Family let us build a world that celebrates just how extraordinary a motorhome holiday can be, and working with John Robertson and the Yukfoo crew meant we could push the work into genuinely new territory for Apollo.”

jnr. managing director & founder, John Marshall said right from the get-go “Rebecca and the thl team challenged us to think differently about the Apollo business challenge.”

“The strategic foundations built by the BCM team in previous years helped us refine the brand strategy and from there we knew we had to push ourselves creatively,” said Marshall.

“A massive shout out to the jnr. team, John, Amy and the Yukfoo crew and finally to Rebecca, Kathryn, Ellie and the thl business for trusting us on this pretty wild and extraordinary ride.”
