Wow! The Masterchef truck is just unstoppable with 1.74 million viewers watching it the other night.
Like many of these reality series I was concerned that series two would be diluted. I actually owe a lot to series one with it helping me build some 3,000 plus Twitter followers commentating on the various highs and lows – and my love for Poh.
But while they have extended the brand and we have the Masterchef Magazine it remains one of the most watchable reality shows ever on TV.
If anything the producers have tightened the format, giving us more tension and action and less of the often boring early heats and selection in the competition.
Matt Preston remains Cravatalicious in his Widow Twanky pantomime dame way while Gary is, er, just Gary.
What I do lament is that they’ve cleaned up George Calombaris. I’m pretty sure we all loved his knife licking and terrible table manners in the first series.
It certainly made me let out more of my inner caveman at the dining table than some of my dining companions are comfortable with. His appeal is his woggyness, which spoke to the common man or woman. And it’s a shame they’ve cleaned that up.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the finals, not just for the tension and the food action. I want to see whether or not it will break new ratings records.
