Rochelle Burbury, a former media & marketing editor at The Australian Financial Review, will join AdNews as consulting editor from next week.

Burbury has more than 20 years experience as a journalist specialising in the media, marketing and advertising industries. She began her career at B&T Magazine, where she was editor, before moving to The Sydney Morning Herald and then The Australian as media & marketing editor and, most recently, the AFR.

At AdNews, she will work in a consulting role with editor-in-chief Paul McIntyre, online editor David Blight and print editor Damian Francis to steer editorial direction and ensure AdNews remains the industry's news and thought leader.

McIntyre said: "Experience and knowledge are a premium for any industry these days. The media and communications sector just got some of it back."

Burbury, who last year sold her stake in Access PR, which she co-founded six years ago, said: "I'm really looking forward to working closely with the editorial team to further strengthen the depth of analysis and opinion as the industry navigates through unprecedented change and opportunity."
