EXCLUSIVE: Optus has appointed former Vodafone marketer Kerry Morrison as head of digital marketing, sales and service.
In the newly created role, Morrison will lead both the digital marketing team and online sales and service teams.
Morrison was previously general manager, marketing communications at Vodafone Hutchison Australia for two years, leaving the telco at the end of last year. She worked for Hutchison for six years before the company was merged with Vodafone. Morrison also worked for Optus between 2002 and 2003.
She joins from group buying site Cudo, where she was marketing and sales director for seven months. A Cudo spokesperson said it was not searching for a replacement for Morrison, whose role will be absorbed into other existing roles.
Last week, AdNews reported Nine Entertainment Co. and Microsoft were looking to sell their joint venture for $60 million.
A spokesperson for Optus said: "Kerry's marketing and digital experience make her a fantastic fit for Optus and we look forward to welcoming her to the team in the coming weeks."
