Last supper for Australian Good Taste

NewsLifeMedia's Australian Good Taste will cease publication from August this year.

NewsLifeMedia has announced it will axe Woolworths' Australian Good Taste magazine from July this year, as magazines continue to meet their makers. Paid-for titles, that is.

Australian Good Taste will cease publication from August this year with its final issue on sale from 24 July 2013. The closure does not affect NewsLifeMedia's publication of the Woolworth's monthly Fresh magazine. Whereas Fresh is free, Australian Good Taste cost $3.99.

NewsLifeMedia managing director Nicole Sheffield said: “Australian Good Taste is a wonderful title and we have enjoyed a very successful relationship with Woolworths. Closing a title is never easy, however we have jointly chosen to explore new opportunities going forward.

“The Australian Good Taste editorial and advertising teams have delivered readers strong value over the years. Both partners would like to thank them for a great product and our readers and advertisers for their support.”

The company also said it hoped to redeploy all affected staff.

NewsLifeMedia did however announce last month it was launching a print magazine of its popular recipes website, Taste.com.au. The title will be sold nationally across newsagents, supermarkets and independents.
